Ella Shines Goldsmith was born in Jackson, Mississippi in 1959 and grew up during the Civil Rights movement in the 1960’s. She enjoys history and writes about her ancestors and their trials and triumphs in American from 1800 to 1980. Major focus of her writings are on Slavery and Civil Rights in America.
Ella also is a devoted Christian and writes about prayer and faith and trusting in God's word in her Blog - Growing In Faith with Ella.

Ella graduated from Southern University A &M College in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and a Minor in English. She enjoys doing research on her family history, traveling and antique shopping.
She has two children and 4 grandchildren.
Ella currently resides in the Houston, Texas area but plans to retire back in her beautiful home state of Mississippi one day.
